PUPI fiberglass crossarms and deadends have long provided distinct advantages to wood beams which, because of considerable natural variances, are difficult to accurately predict field performance as well being susceptible to insects and woodpeckers and deteriorating in as little as 20 years of exposure. PUPI crossarms are manufactured to provide uniform and predictable performance in any climate and are impervious to insects and woodpeckers. In spite of the advantages of fiberglass, utilities have continued to use lower priced wood crossarms in standard installations. "We had many of our customers tell us that their linemen wanted only PUPI fiberglass crossarms, but, even though our products were a better long-term investment, they couldn't make a case for the short-term cost differential," said Derek Mazula, CEO, Geotek, the parent company of PUPI. "The PUPI Series 22 addresses the need for an affordable fiberglass crossarm product to a cost sensitive industry like utilities." Leveraging its patented advantages and manufacturing innovations, PUPI is able to produce the PUPI Series 22 at a lower cost without compromising on any industry-required performance features. PUPI Series 22 can be installed with fiberglass braces or with a center mount. About PUPI PUPI is a division of Geotek, an internationally recognized manufacturer of reinforced pultruded products for the utilities, animal containment, nursery and consumer markets. Geotek brings more than 35 years of pultrusion experience to the PUPI manufacturing process. |
